Tony Blair joins Huffington Post UK as a bloggerPosted: July 6, 2011
With the launch of the Huffington Post in the United Kingdom today comes an announcement that Tony Blair has joined the roaster of Huffington’s unpaid bloggers.
Arianna Huffington, the founder and editor-in-chief of the American self-styled internet newspaper which was recently acquired by AOL for $315 million was in the UK for the Huffington Post UK launch.
Tony Blair is joined by Alastair Campbell and Sarah Brown, wife of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, all blogging free of charge. This is in line with Huffington’s policy of not paying it’s bloggers but instead giving them a platform to showcase their work.
Earlier this year, a group of unpaid bloggers began legal proceedings against Huffington, after her major windfall from AOL, claiming they had been treated like ‘modern day slaves’.
